The Iowa State University's Stark Performance Center is a state-of-the-art facility that serves as an academic and training resource for student-athletes for ISU's football, soccer, softball, golf, and tennis teams. With an area of 110,000 sq ft, the facility is designed to meet the needs of student-athletes while providing a sustainable environment for learning and training.

Mecho has successfully completed a number of other projects on Iowa State University's campus and this project is a continuation of the high standard that the university holds.

The primary project goal was to create a quiet, sustainable, and energy-efficient environment for the student-athletes. Mecho, a leading supplier of shading solutions, was brought on board to provide high-quality shading solutions for the project.

Mecho supplied its high-quality shading solutions to the Stark Performance Center, including Mecho/5X manual shades, ElectroShade with iQ2+-AC motorized shades (Cradle to Cradle certified), EcoVeil 1550 series solar shade cloth (Cradle to Cradle certified), and Classic Blackout 0700 series. These shading solutions provided overall energy savings, sound reduction when operating shades, and maximum comfort and glare control for student-athletes.

The shading solutions provided by Mecho were instrumental in achieving a LEED Silver rating for the Stark Performance Center. By providing solar shading and glare control, the shading solutions contributed to the energy savings and comfort of the building.
