Introducing the Sample Take-Back Program

December 5, 2025

Mecho’s new Ascend program levels up our commitment to sustainability. As part of the program’s Optimize pillar, we are implementing a Take-Back Program with the goal of eliminating waste through our sampling process.

Here’s how it works. Once the complimentary samples and swatches are used and returned back to us, usable units are added back into our inventory so they can be ordered again.

AscendSwatches that have been recycled back into our inventory have been labeled with this sticker.

What is the main goal of the Sample Take-Back Program?

The program is part of our commitment to sustainability and waste reduction. It ensures that used or unwanted and usable samples are reclaimed and added directly back into our supply chain instead of ending up in a landfill.

Is there any cost to me for returning samples?

No, the Sample Take-Back Program is a completely complimentary service. Once you initiate a return request, we will cover the entire cost of shipping and arranging the pickup of your used samples. Email us at sustainability@mechoshade.com

What kind of samples can I return?

You can send us any Mecho or SWFcontract individual solar or blackout fabric samples, aluminum, faux wood, composite, vertical, cellular, pleated or fascia swatches. Larger components like fabric boxes or binders, we kindly ask that you please recycle those on your own, as we can no longer offer those products in our sample assortment.

How do I arrange for the complimentary sample return?

Simply email sustainability@mechoshade.com to initiate the return process, and we will provide you with a return label. Pack up your samples and drop them off at your nearest FedEx shipping hub.

What happens to the samples once you receive them?

The samples are carefully inspected, tagged and reintroduced into our sample inventory so they can be reused by another customer.
