Maintenance
Visual Checks
To be completed by facilities personnel. Concerns should be identified to a trained Mecho dealer for service.
- All mounting hardware (brackets and channels) is affixed tightly and securely to its intended mounting surface.
- Ensure tube plugs next to center support brackets have air gap between them and the closest surface on the bracket adjacent to them so they are not rubbing.
- No metal, plastic or other particulate matter is collecting under the shade especially near bracket locations (i.e., center support bracket, idle bracket, drive bracket, etc.)
- Shade Cloth: No tears, separation of fabric from hem bar, creases or unacceptable wrinkling in the fabric is seen when the shade is fully deployed.
Mechanical/Operational Checks
To be completed by a trained technician.
- Multi-Band Couplers: Ensure that the interconnection between coupled shade bands does not possess excessive play (> 5 degrees) by grabbing the 2 tubes independently and rotating in the opposite directions. Concerns may require disassembly of the tube assemblies to inspect for wear.
- Verify the shade operates smoothly all the way up and down. No audible unexpected noises. Verify that the hem bar always moves level and does not tilt.
- Verify no squeaking or grinding noises occur at the idle or center support during entire travel from top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top. Concerns may be alleviated by applying a synthetic grease (like Molykote G-4500FM). If this does not correct the situation then the tube assembly will need to be removed for inspection of wear in the bearing surfaces and/or removal of any debris in the joint.
- Ensure there is no excessive telescoping of fabric. Concerns may require shimming of bracket and/or fabric.
- Verify hem bar alignment between adjacent bands. Alignment should be checked at the top and bottom limits as well as at eye level. Concerns may require shimming of bracket and/or fabric.
